Getting Rid of ICQ Ads
     Alright, it's well-known that people that use ICQ are constantly spammed.  If you like the spam, that's fine (even though you're nuts) but this is here to allow people to rid of this problem.

Security Settings
     Start up ICQ, click on the "Main" button, then on "Security and Privacy Settings".  Here's where we'll be eliminating all of these ads.

Once there, go to the messages section and set your settings as follows in this picture:

[X] Accept messages only from users on my Contact List
[   ] Do not accept Multi Recipient Messages from
[X] Do not accept World Wider Pager Messages
[X] Do not accept EmailExpress Messages

If Mass Messages from people on your list bother you, then check that too.

That alone eliminates most spam; for someone on your list to talk to you, they can't just do the advertisers' way of messaging you, they have to request to be on your list.  If you need more anti-spam, then set the following below:

You can be more strict if you prefer, but doing this, I haven't had one spam message in a few months... ever since I set this stuff.
